Lovecraft Ltd. is a currently up-and-coming corporation, low on funds but long on history. Founded a long time ago by current CEO Lucien Bonaparte's great-uncle Herman Patrick Lovecraft, it was a mildly successful mining and retail corporation. Sixteen years ago Lucien took over the reins of the company after the mysterious disappearance of his great-uncle. For some reason Herman had mentioned Lucien in his will, even though the young man then was something of a dillettante, and not particularly suited to the cutthroat world of interstellar business.

Never one to back down from a challenge, Lucien Bonaparte (or Luc B to his friends) recruited several people to help him run the corporation, including his childhood friend (and sometime paramour) Marissa Laville. For a time everything was looking up, and LL started expanding again. The main areas of interest were still mining, processing and selling of processed materials. With a side-business of some light privateering and bounty hunting. Then disaster struck.

No one knows what happened or, if they do, they're not talking. But all the major players of Lovecraft Ltd. disappeared! Even Luc himself cannot tell what happened, since he has no recollection of the past era. One day transactions just stopped coming in from Lucien, Marissa, and the others. And no one knew what had happened to them, much like what happened years past to Herman P. Lovecraft.

Then one day not long ago the team of the inscrutable financier Amyntas Poros and the cynical pilot Varana Anadille found a floating Tristan out in deepspace. The ship was basically unhurt and the duo started thinking about major salvage. But then they noticed weak lifesigns coming from the derelict. To cut a long story short, that Tristan was the personal ship of Lucien Bonaparte, and the lifesigns were those of the CEO himself. Amyntas and Varana escorted Luc B to Bourynes and the Caille University, where he once again took the reins of the company (thanks to some timely donated ISK from Amyntas).

Gratefully, Lucien immediately extended offers to join LL to his two saviors, and together they plan to make Lovecraft Ltd. a household name again!
